Can you use a fastpitch bat in slow pitch softball?

Yes. For the most part, the regulations state that the size of the bats for fast and slow pitch are about the same. If you asked the reverse question, it would be a maybe. Slow pitch bats can be made of wood. In fastpitch, wooden bats are not allowed for fear of injury if the bat were to break.

Huh, that's interesting. MLB allows wooden bats, they break frequently, and as a result people occasionally get hurt. Mr.askLogs is reading over my shoulder and reminded me that the distance from the mound to the plate in MLB is greater than in softball and perhaps that is why they are so concerned. It better be that, and not that they think ladies are delicate flowers and can't handle a broken bat in the face.

Bonus answer: Slow pitch bats seem more expensive. At least for the composite variety, so a fastpitch bat seems to be more economical. This is based on 8.9 seconds of research.
